Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Narayanganj Md Jasim Uddin has assured the anti-tobacco activists of continuing his assistance to control the tobacco use in the future. He said that he works against tobacco and will continue his support against the tobacco use.
The DC made the assurance at a meeting with anti-tobacco activists on Wednesday. A delegation of Bangladesh Tamak Birodhi Jote (The Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance) held the meeting with DC Jasim Uddin at his office to discuss about control of tobacco use.
Representatives of NATAB, ARK Foundation, Tobacco Control and Research Cell (TCRC), Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB Trust) and IWB were present at the meeting.
Program Manager at Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB Trust) Syeda Anonna Rahman led the delegation, while the meeting was attended, among others, by senior health education officer of Dhaka Civil Surgeon Office Mohsin Mia, Kaniz Fatema Rushi of NATAB, Research Assistant of TCRC of Dhaka International University Farhana Zaman Liza, Hamidul Islam Hillol of ARK Foundation, Abu Rayhan of WBB Trust and Masum Billah Bhuiyan of IWB
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, Syeda Anonna Rahman said that Narayanganj DC Md Jasim Uddin has been playing positive role to control tobacco use for long. At the meeting, the DC assured of continuing his support in this regard.
