Reducing tobacco use to improve public health is one of the government’s objectives. And with this objective in mind, the Honorable Prime Minister has expressed his firm determination to establish Bangladesh as a tobacco-free country by 2040. Various programs are being taken up for this purpose. But it is seen that tobacco companies are violating and interfering with the law in various ways to earn profits, expand business and obtain various benefits. Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance and WBB Trust have been collecting information on tobacco companies’ violations and interferences for a long time and preparing reports.
I hope that the report will play a helpful role in the policy-making field, the media and organizations and individuals working at the field level to conduct tobacco control activities.
